    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[The journal covers a month long tour of England and Scotland combining topographical and architectural obersvations with commentary of local industries and how they are shaping the cities and lives of the lower classes. Starting from Leigh in Gloucestershire on July 9, 1794, Moddridge comments on the Roman pavement at Rodburgh, the River Avon at Tewksbury, the Llanthony Priory near Gloucester, the Saxon Arch at Ribblesford, button manufacturing in Birmingham, Staffordshire potteries and Wedgewood, the Duke of Bridgewaters Canal, which supplied coal to Manchester, Penrith Castle near Carlisle, Pict walls, Gretna  Green, the cathedral in Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Ben Nevis, Edinburgh, Roselin Castle, Roselin Chapel, and the Lake District.<br />
